About our varsity program
Since 2021, our Varsity Esports Program has been supporting students looking to grow in-game and beyond with a team of likeminded players. We help develop competitive esports skills while building strengths in leadership, communication, and strategic thinking to prepare for success as a player, student, and future professional. Our varsity athletes train and compete in our Esports Facility with specialized equipment and coaches.
Leagues and Match Schedules
We're a proud member of nationally recognized collegiate esports leagues, including the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) and National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC). We livestream our matches on Twitch during the fall and spring seasons.

After you apply, we'll reach out with the next steps. Tryouts usually take place from late summer through early fall for incoming or current Minnesota State University, Mankato students. Scholarship
The $2,000 Rolfsrud-Wallerstedt Esports Scholarship is an opportunity for current first-year students who align to an underrepresented population. Applications are open in February.
Academic Requirements
To help encourage and support students' academic progress, we require certain standards to be upheld. Athletes must:
- Be in good academic standing.
- Be enrolled as a full-time student, 12 or more credits (Graduating semester students exempt).
- Be degree-seeking with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- User accounts must be in good standing and not have any bans for the past 365 days.
