Maverick Esports Skills Academy
A two-day summer experience designed for middle and high school students interested in gaming and esports. Choose your favorite game and get coaching from experienced college players, coaches, and an esports physical therapist to help you become a healthier, more mindful and skilled gamer. Plus, learn about collegiate opportunities and the industry!
COST & Registration
Spots are limited! Only 26 seats per academy.
$200 per academy, includes both days and lunches at the University Dining Center. Register by May 22.
GAMES
Choose from League of Legends, Valorant, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Rocket League, or Overwatch.
Dates
Experiences are two days and run approximately 10am-4pm.
- Middle School: June 3 & 10, 2024
- Entering 5–8 grade
- High School: June 7 & 14, 2024
- Entering 9–12 grade, including upcoming 2024 grads

Dr. Jordan Tsai, Esports Physical Therapist
Dr. Tsai helps gamers of every level play at their best through assessment of ergonomics, education on healthy gaming habits, and strategies to optimize physical wellness. He served 3 years in the Army including a deployment to Iraq before graduating from USC's #1 ranked Doctorate of Physical Therapy program in 2018 and started working with Cloud9 professional esports. Since then, he's worked with 3 LCS Championship teams with 5 total titles so far.
Cancellations & Refunds
Request cancellations by emailing esports@mnsu.edu with your registration confirmation number. Because our event has limited seats, we ask that you request cancellations as soon as possible so we may offer your seat to another student.
Cancellations made on or before June 1, 2024 will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made after June 1, 2024 will receive a 50% refund. The amount will be refunded to your card within approximately 3–5 business days.
